North Korea released still photographs of leader Kim Jong Un overseeing the first test firing of a “new-type large-caliber multiple launch guided rocket system”.
Day after the missiles were test fired, South Korean presidential office convened an emergency security meeting.
Meanwhile, condemning the missile launches, United Nations urged Pyongyong to take concrete steps towards its complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization and to engage in meaningful negotiations with the U.S. The reaction came after U.N. Security Council met behind closed doors over North Korea’s latest missile launches.
United States President Donald Trump on his part however said he was not worried about missiles being tested by North Korea, calling them very standard, short-range devices. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that U.S. is ready to continue diplomatic conversation with Pyongyang.
