Normalcy prevails in Jammu & Kashmir

While restrictions have been lifted across the valley, security forces have been deployed in areas that are sensitive.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah said that abrogation of special status under 370 was absolutely essential and within 10 years Jammu and Kashmir would become the most developed state in the world. MoS in the PMO Jitendra Prasad said that the removal of special status under 370 was a reward of 3 decades of struggle.

EAM S Jaishankar meanwhile asserted that  the abrogation of article 370 was a “long awaited” step and the “right thing” to do…he also said it is expected from Pakistan to pull out all stops to challenge the decision as it has made deep investment in fuelling terrorism in Kashmir.

Asserting that security forces have exercised highest degree of restraint in Jammu and Kashmir after August 5, Jaishankar said that he expects Pakistan to continue what it has been doing for the past several decades. He said that Pakistan’s game plan is to Paint an Apocalyptic Scenario before the world .
