Udaipur : Emphasizing on the need of vocational education in the country, the State Minister for Human Resource Development Upendra Kushwaha said that soon a new education policy will be implemented which will be entirely based on skill development, specially designed to enable the economic empowerment of the vulnerable section. “ The new policy will not be dictated from Delhi but would be crafted after reaching out to the interior villagers and knowing the requirements of the rural mass” Kushwaha said. The minister was addressing a mass gathering here on Monday on the occasion of the 28th foundation day of the Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. “ A separate ministry for skill development is under consideration and the new education policy would focus on the all round development of the students with entrepreneurial concepts in harmony with the market requirements” he added.
Eminent personalities from various walks of life were honored at the function. Famous actor Manoj Joshi was bestowed Kala Keerti award for his contribution in the television and film industry with various hits like Herapheri, Vivah, Halchal etc. Dr Pushpendra Bhati, the Additional Advocate General of Rajathan High Court was conferred Kanoon-Kohinoor award while Prof Kailash Sodani , the V-C of MDS University Ajmer was given the Shiksha Bhagirath award for his contribution in the education field. Dr Mahendra Bhanawat received Lok Kala Meru award while Shanti Sarathi to Anant Ganesh Trivedi, Samaj Setu to parliamentarian Arjunlal Meena and Krida Keertiketu to Apurvi Joshi and Samaj Vibhuti award was given to Prof Shivraj. Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha was the chief guest of the ceremony.
Prof P.K Punjabi, Dr Manju Mandot, Arun Paneri, K.L Vaishnav, Iqbal Hussain, Kalu Singh and Bhimraj Dangi were honored for their services in the University. Registrar C.P Agarwal welcomed the guests while V-C Prof S.S. Sarangdevot mentioned the achievements of the university.
