According to Embassy of India situation is under control and the numbers are not alarming. It would take just one day of good weather and normal flight operations to evacuate all stranded people.
Simikot has basic boarding and lodging facilitates to accommodate 500 pilgrims comfortably. The initial medical examination and first aid facilities are also available.
The Mission’s representatives in Simikot, Hilsa and Nepalganj are on alert and continuously monitoring the situation. In case of any emergency, Embassy would ensure safe and timely evacuation of stranded pilgrims.
