Delivering the key note address at Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2019 in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening, Singh said infrastructure is very essential for growth of the economy, creating jobs and achieving development goals.
He said Nepal has a huge hydro power potential and it should enhance its capacity to become self sufficient.
Power Minister also said 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Power Project being constructed by India will not only fill demand and supply gap but also help Nepal to earn revenue.
The theme of two day summit is “Resilient Infrastructure for Sustainable Development”. It will focus on the global and regional megatrends, including climate change and their relevance to the local context, issues surrounding infrastructure project delivery, financing modalities and opportunities for cross-border economic cooperation and investments.
Over 500 participants from various countries are attending the event which is organised by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) in association with Govt. of Nepal.
