The season’s biggest high tide was seen in Mumbai on Monday. Following MeT office warning, BMC, Mumbai Police and Naval Coast Guard have been put on alert.
Fishermen and people have been advised not to venture into the sea.
In the national capital Delhi, Monday afternoon brought the mercury down. MeT office has predicted that monsoon rains will continue in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan and light to heavy rain at some places.
Torrential rains have created havoc in several parts of Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Kerala and Odisha.
Nagavali and Bansadhara rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Due to rain, communication facilities have been disrupted in various parts of Odisha.
The weatherman has predicted heavy to very heavy rain at a few places with extremely heavy falls very likely at isolated places over Konkan & Goa and isolated places over Gujarat Region and Saurashtra. Rains are likley in East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.
A well-marked low pressure area lies over north Coastal Odisha and neighbourhood. The system is very likely to move west northwestwards across Central India, thereby enhancing the rainfall over Central India in coming days. Another low pressure area is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around 19 July.
The monsoon trough continues to run south of its normal position.
