Although there are 25 candidates in the fray this time for the 17th Lok Sabha election, the main contest seems to be between these two. As the temperature is soaring, so is the heat that can be felt in the election fight here in Patliputra.
Although the mysterious silence of the voters is making the two stalwarts uncomfortable. On the one hand, sitting MP Ram Kripal Yadav is contesting on a BJP ticket, on the other hand giving him a fight head on is Misa Bharti who is trying to register a win for the Lalu family.
Ram Kripal Yadav is fighting in the name of Modi whereas, Misa Bharti is contesting in the name of her father Lalu Prasad Yadav. This is a contest of pride for the Lalu family as they have not been able to succeed since 2004.
Lalu himself contested for this seat in 2009 but his close aide Ranjan Yadav defeated him. In 2014, his elder daughter Misa Bharti was in the fray and Ram Kripal Yadav who was close to the family defeated her in a close fight. According to the voters, a lot still needs to be done in terms of development in this area.
This contest is like a game of chess between these two opponents. Both are trying all possible tricks to win over the voters especially the Yadavs who are a majority in this region.
