MEA: Pakistan not serious about peace

Pakistan has been backing forces of terrorism in India while making peace talk offers. India has reacted sharply to the latest statement of talks given by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. India's Ministry of External Affairs has said that there is no seriousness in Pakistan's statement on peace talks, it needs to go beyond words and take concrete action to be convincing.

The MEA has posed some queries to Pakistan while questioning its talks offer.

INDIA POSES 5 QUESTIONS TO PAK

-- that when Pak govt is offering peace talks why are ministers and representatives of Imran Khan's govt sharing stage with terrorists?

-- If Pakistan is ready for talks why doesn't it act against the Pathankot and Mumbai attacks conspirators? Why is the matter deferred again and again?

-- If Pakistan is serious about talks why does it provide shelter & support to terrorists from its soil?

-- Pakistan is lending support to proscribed organisations. Why is it persisting with efforts to mainstream terror organisations?

India has also said that Pakistan is repeatedly making statements about the internal matters of other countries to take attention away from its economic situation. It also hit back at the recent comments made by the Pak PM on minorities in India by saying that instead of trying to teach India lessons on the subject it should pay attention to its own affairs.

The MEA also commented on issues related to Afghanistan and Iran during this media interaction. In the context of Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat's statement on the Taliban, the MEA said that India has always supported peace and reconstruction processes in Afghanistan and believes in an inclusive approach on the matter. India's stand on the subject remains unchanged. On the subject of India importing oil from Iran, it was said that India is engaged with all stakeholders in the matter and will continue to act to ensure its future energy security.
