Mauritius PM arriving to attend WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine launch event

New Delhi, April 16 : Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, accompanied by his spouse Kobita Jugnauth and a high-level delegation, will visit India from April 17 to 24. He will participate in the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar on April 18. The visit is taking place at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Jugnauth will also attend the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar on April 20, along with Prime Minster Modi. Apart from official engagements in Gujarat and New Delhi, the Prime Minister of Mauritius will also visit Varanasi during the visit. India and Mauritius enjoy quely close ties, bound by shared history, culture and heritage. The upcoming visit will further strengthen the vibrant bilateral ties, an official statement said. On January 20 this year, both the Prime Ministers had jointly inaugurated the India-assisted Social Housing ts project in Mauritius virtually and also launched the Civil Service College and 8MW Solar PV Farm projects in Mauritius that are being undertaken under India’s development support. An Agreement on extending a US$ 190 mn Line of Credit (LoC) from India to Mauritius for the Metro Express Project and other infrastructure projects; and MoU on the implementation of Small Development Projects were also exchanged that day. World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus is also arriving to attend the inauguration of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine at Jamnagar. Both the WHO chief and the Mauritius PM will arrive in Rajkot on April 18 to attend the ground breaking ceremony on April 19, along with PM Modi. The three-day Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit will witness five plenary sessions, eight roundtables, six workshops, and two symposiums, with the presence of around 90 eminent speakers and 100 exhibitors. The Summit will help uncover investment potential, and give a fillip to innovation, research and development, start-up ecosystem, and the wellness industry. It will help bring together industry leaders, academicians and scholars together and act as a platform for future collaborations. RN
