Man shot and stabbed over property dispute

Dinesh Chittora 1 IMG-20141121-WA0069Udaipur : A broad day light assault on a businessman on Friday noon came as a big bolt for the police department which had held a march past just few hours before the incident, to assure peace and order in the city ahead of the municipal polls. Dinesh Chittora who run a tent house business at Jheeniret here, was shot first and then stabbed thrice by an unidentified man who followed him as he was driving on his motorcycle on the 100 feet road here at Shobagpura on Friday noon.

As Chittora slipped and fell down from his bike after receiving the bullet shot, the assaulter stabbed him three times on his stomach. The attacker shot in the air   to frighten passer bys and fled away in his bike as he saw people approaching at the spot after the commotion. Additional SP Dr Rajesh Bharadwaj, Circle Inspector Chandmal Singharia of Bhupalpura police station, Harendra Singh, SHO Sukher police station reached the spot and rushed the victim to the MB hospital who was told to be in a critical condition. A property dispute was pointed out as the probable reason behind the assault by the police as the victim too was said to be indulged in property dealing beside his tent business. A man has been detained for interrogation, police said who had laid check posts all over the city to nab the attacker.
