Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday resigned from the post as his government lost majority following Dy CM Ajit Pawar quitting his post.
Fadnavis met governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in Raj Bhawan and submitted the resignation. He said that the coalition will not have majority aftert Ajit Pawar resigned.
Fadnavis denied allegations of horse trading and said that the opposition instead indulged in horse trading.
Fadnavis said BJP will become the voice of the people as a responsible opposition. Maharashtra Assembly poll mandate was more for BJP than Shiv Sena, he added.
