The bill aims at improving road safety, weeding out corruption from transportation department and ushering in use of technology to regulate traffic.
During the discussion, minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari assured the states that their rights would not be violated.
Apart from this, the government also introduced the Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Bill and the Code on Wages Bill in Lok Sabha to benefit almost 40 crore labours.
Meanwhile, the upper house began discussion on The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
The Rajya Sabha also passed Finance Bill 2019, completing the Parliamentary approval process for Budget 2019-20.
