KL Rahul’s unbeaten ton powers LSG to 199/4

Mumbai, April 16 : Captain KL Rahul’s unbeaten knock of 103 off 60 guided Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to post 199/4 against Mumbai Indians (MI) in an Indian Premier League match here at Brabourne Stadium on Saturday. With his century, Rahul became the first player to score a century in his 100th match in the history of the tournament and the second player to amass multiple hundreds as captain in IPL after Virat Kohli, who has five centuries to his credit. LSG got off to a good start after being put into bat, as they posted 57 runs for the loss of one wicket in the Powerplay. Mumbai debutant Fabian Allen trapped Quinton de Kock, who attempted reverse-sweep in the sixth over. Manish Pandey then joined captain Rahul and picked up from where de Kock had left. In the 14th over, Murugan Ashwin got rid off Pandey for the score of 38 to break the partnership. In the penultimate over, skipper Rahul brought up his second century as a captain in his 100th IPL game, overall third century in the IPL. With two balls left in the innings, Deepak Hodda (15 off 8) got caught by Ishan Kishan off the bowling of Unadkat, who conceded just 4 runs in the final over.
