With rebel MLAs showing no signs of softening their stand, Congress and JDS are putting in all efforts to save the government.
So far 15 MLAs have deserted the government, comprising 10 Congress, 3 JDS and two independents. the 10 Congress and 3 JDS MLAs have already sent their resignations, however, assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar is yet to accept the resignations.
Both the independent MLAs have declared their support to the BJP. The 10 rebel MLAs were camping in Mumbai and now have been moved to Goa. Meanwhile, 21 Congress and 9 JDS ministers have put in their papers.
Their resignations are seen as an attempt to give the chief minister enough room to salvage his government.
Congress is also scheduled to hold a meeting of its legislature party today.
