The voters of Jharkhand on Thursday sealed the fate of 309 candidates in the third phase of Jharkhand assembly elections. The elections were concluded peacefully where an estimated 62.35% polling was recorded on an average.
Meanwhile, electioneering in Jharkhand reached a peak on Thursday as people on the one hand thronged polling booths to vote in the third phase and campaigning for the remaining phases went on in full swing on the other. Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigned in Dhanbad where he slammed the Congress party in his address at a rally as a party that had given Jharkhand only dust, smoke and betrayal while the BJP has always worked in the national interest.
Pointing out to the issue of potable drinking water PM Modi assured the people of Dhanbad in particular that the govt would be ensuring clean water in every home across the country by 2024 at a cost of 3 and a half lakh crore rupees. He slammed the Congress as a party only concerned about its vested interests.
For the Congress, former party chief Rahul Gandhi addressed rallies in Godda and Sahibganj. He promised huge benefits for the people of the state and farmers.
JMM and JVMP also held rallies to woo voters.
