Iran to vote in 11th Parliamentary Elections on February 21

Allies of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have ensured hardliners dominate the February 21 vote, removing moderates and leading conservatives and permitting voters a choice mostly between hardline and low-key conservative candidates loyal to him.

It is to be noted that the elections come at a crucial time for the country, as it seeks to resist and negotiate intense pressure and sanctions from the administration of United States President Donald Trump over its nuclear programme.
