India’s first ‘corporate’ train Tejas Express launched on Delhi-Lucknow route

A new chapter has been written in the history of Indian Railways on Friday when country’s first corporate train Tejas ran on the tracks.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off Tejas express. The semi-highspeed train that will run between Delhi and Lucknow from Charbagh railway station in Lucknow on Friday.

CM congratulated the first batch of passengers travelling in the train and expressed gratitude to the PM and the Railways Minister for gifting the train to the people of the state.

The passengers of India’s first corporate train ‘Tejas Express’ will have a flight-like experience. IRCTC is offering free travel insurance of Rs 25 lakh to the passengers travelling on the train. The passengers will get a refund of Rs 100 in case the train gets delayed for an hour. If the delay is of more than 2 hours then Rs 250 will be given to passengers by IRCTC.

The CM expressed hope that other cities will also be connected by Tejas soon.

The train will complete the journey from Lucknow to Delhi in 6 hours 10 minutes. The Tejas Express will have only two halts Kanpur and Ghaziabad. It will run on all days of the week except Tuesday.

According to the schedule, the train will leave Lucknow at 6.10 am and reach New Delhi Railway station at 12.25 pm. On its return journey, the train will leave Delhi at 3.35 pm and reach Lucknow at 10.05 pm.

The commercial run of the train starts Saturday.
