ICC Cricket World Cup:  Bangladesh set 331-run target for South Africa

Thrashed by 104 runs in their first match against England on Thursday, South Africa, deprived of key batsman Hashim Amla due to a head injury suffered in that loss, will have to score 331 to avoid a second successive defeat.

Bangladesh have posted their highest-ever one-day international total after putting South Africa’s bowlers to the sword in the fifth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at The Kennington Oval in London.

A record 142-run third-wicket stand between Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim  laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s 330 for 6 after a fast start from Soumya Sarkar.

The departures of Shakib and Mushfiqur threatened to curtail Bangladesh’s total, before a brilliant cameo from Mahmudullah added vital late runs.
