Rajya Sabha discussed Hyderabad Gang rape case. Expressing anguish over the incident, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said that what is required is not a new bill but political will, administrative skill and change of mindset to rout out the social evil.
Speaking in Lok Sabha, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured that the govt is open to making changes in exisiting laws to make them more stringent, if necessary.
MPs cutting across party lines unanimously condemned the Hyderabad gang rape and murder case in Lok Sabha. Speaker Om Birla said that such heinous crimes leave the members of the House hurt and concerned and said that stringent laws can be framed and the House can work on it, if needed.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, G Kishan Reddy said that he met with senior officials who are investigating the sexual assault-murder case in Hyderabad. He said that a fast track court will ensure swift justice.
