Heavy rains hit normal life in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed flood situation in state on Thursday. He also chaired a meeting at Kolhapur with various officials and agencies to review flood situation in Kolhapur, Sangli & Satara.

Chief Minster instructed for various measures for food, drinking water, healthcare, shelter and coordination among all the agencies.

He also assured that various agencies including Army, navy, air force, NDRF, India Coast Guard, SDRF and local administrations are working hard to rescue people.

Devendra Fadnavis added that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured of all the assistance to the state and he himself talked to Karanataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Almatti discharge.
Around 2.3 lakh people have been rescued and saved while more than 28 thousand animals have been shifted to safer locations.

267 temporary camps have been set up across flood affected areas.
