Heavy downpour continue across nation

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of the Basti district to better direct rescue and relief efforts.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda was in Kerala today to take stock of the post-floods situation.

Several districts of Uttar Pradesh have suffered devastation due to heavy rains and floods.

Over 5 lakh people are affected in the state and there have been some casualties as well. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted aerial survey of the flood affected regions of Unnao, Kanpur, Farukkhabad, and Barabanki.

After the survey he announced that people whose houses have collapsed due to flood and rains will be given new houses under PM Gramin Awas Yojna.

Chief Minister also distributed relief material to affected people in Basti.

Health Minister JP Nadda visited flood-ravaged Kerala and inspected the relief camps. He said centre is with Kerala to deal with the unprecedented calamity in the state. He added that Prime Minister himself is closely monitoring the situation.

Interacting with media in Kochi, Nadda said Health Ministry has made arrangements for medicines and relief material.

In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains in Shimla have also affected normal life. Roads were water logged disrupting movement of traffic. MeT dept said the rains are likely to continue.

Jharkhand and Odisha are also witnessing similar problems.
