Guv inaugurates Bengal Global Business Summit

Kolkata, April 20 : West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday inaugurated Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), a mega show of the West Bengal government inviting investments from the industrialists across the globe, after a gap of two years owing to global pandemic. The Governor inaugurated the BGBS in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, industrialists from across the country and delegates from 19 countries. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor lauded Chief Minister’s initiative for holding industrial conferences in the state. Dhankhar advised the Centre and the states to work together and said this would improve Bengal. He said on the stage of BGBS, politics and development should be kept separate. The Governor said Bengal was advancing under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee. Hopefully this trade conference will show the way for development in the future, he added. ” Bengal will move forward following Prime Minister Modiji’s Look East policy,” he said. ”Bengal has the power to change the economic picture of the country. Investing in Bengal will benefit the industrialists. The Prime Minister has also said so. It is hoped that Bengali will be further developed in the future. This trade conference will show the way,” Dhankhar added. The Governor said, “Durga Pujo has been recognised in the world. Great men have been born in Bengal. Everyone knows about the culture of Bengal.” He said, ” Bengali is the seat of intellect and education. Last year, Kolkata’s Durga Pujo entered the heritage list. What Bengal thinks today, the country thinks tomorrow. ” Adani group leader Gautam Adani is present in the conference. Besides, there are leaders of Hiranandani, Jindal and Chatterjee groups. Wipro captain Azim Premji and foreign delegations are coming. About 250 delegates from 19 countries attended the Bengal Trade Conference including USA, South Korea, Kenya, China, Bangladesh, England and Japan. BM SJC
