The former Prime Minister and Co Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri graced the function held at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Satsang in Lalitpur to mark the occasion.
Greeting the Sikh community on Guru Purab, Prachanda said Nepal has very old and deep rooted relations with Sikhs.
He said Sikh community has played significant role in the economic development of Nepal and their contribution has been recorded with golden words in the history of Nepal.
Ambassador Puri said Guru Nanak Dev ji visited Kathmandu and many other places in Nepal. He said to celebrate 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the Embassy of India is preparing to release a book on the Sikh heritage in Nepal.
Besides Sikh devotees and officials of Indian Embassy and their family members, hundreds of people form various sections of Nepalese society also participated in the Guru Purab celebrations. Shabad Kirtan and langar seva was also organised to mark the occasion.
