Great Ganga Run 2019 flagged off in New Delhi

To connect people with water and spread awareness, Ministry of Jal Shakti organised  ‘the great ganga run’ in New Delhi. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju along with Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat flagged of the run. A large number of people from all age groups participated in the marathon.

Talking to media on the occasion, Kiren Rijiju said that Great Ganga Run is not merely for saving water but it also encourages youth to be an active participant in the government’s ongoing Fit India Campaign. He affirmed that the government is working to improve sports facilities in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat appealed people to come forward and make it a successful one. He also said that the ministry will organise Ganga Expedition from October 9 as well.
