In a major political development, a group of ten MLAs from Congress party in Goa have decided to join BJP.
The group led by leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar met Speaker Rajesh Patnekar to give a letter informing him about the break away from the party.
Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant was also present when the entire group of legislators arrived at the assembly complex.
The change in the sides has reduced the strength of Congress in the House to mere five. BJP is the single largest party with 17 seats, Goa Forward Party and Independents are three each, while one each is from NCP and MGP.
