FM asks all ministries to give detailed capital expenditure plans for next 4Q

Briefing media after holding a meeting with Secretaries and Financial Advisers of key Ministries in New Delhi, Sitharaman said, the idea is to ensure there are no dues pending for service providers.

The minister also said that money should be released on priority basis to ongoing and newly germinated  projects as the government looks to boost growth with spending push.

Finance Minister also said that there are no over due payments or hitches with any of the ministries.

Expenditure secretary G C Murmu, who was also present at the press conference, said that out of the total outstanding dues of about Rs 60,000 crore, Rs 40,000 crore has been cleared.
