Several kilometre long tailback was reported on the Dhaka-Tangail highway which stretched from the Bangabandhu Bridge in Sirajganj to Tangail’s Mirzapur upazila.Long que of vehicles is also reported on the highways near the ferry terminals, including Dhaka-Aricha one.
The rail communication from Dhaka was affected on Saturday due to derailment of Khulna-bound Sundarban Express.
Trains departing from Dhaka were delayed for many hours causing huge rush at the railway station.
Some trains reached Dhaka almost 12 hours behind schedule.Air fares from Dhaka to other parts of the country have also been raised many times by the private airlines operating the services.
