The Election commission of India is launching electoral verification program on Sunday with an aim to keep the list of verified voters updated. Through this program, the Election Commission would allow voters to enlist and verify their names in the electoral roll.
The Electoral Verification Programme, which is scheduled to kick-start on 1st September and run upto to 15th October, would allow voters to take part in the process, both through online and offline modes. Besides, guidance from election commission’s web portal, the voters would also be assisted by Common Service Centers (CSC) across the country.
This campaign would be kicked off on Sunday at 10 lakh centers simultaneously across the country. After the conclusion of program on October 15, the Election Commission would verify the entire updated list until 1st January 2020. Later, the Election Commission would release the final list of verified voters. The entire exercise aims at bringing transparency and updating the list of verified voters.
