ECI seeks action taken report into alleged stone pelting on Agnimitra Paul’s convoy

Asansol, April 16 : The ECI on Saturday sought an action taken report into an alleged stone pelting on the convoy of BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul at the Asansol counting center where counting was in progress for bypoll of Asansol parliamentary seat. West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress candidate Satrughan Sinha was leading over 2.3 lakh votes as the counting was on last leg. Police took control before any damage was done to the convoy which sped away with the BJP candidate Paul. Tension ran a bit in front of Asansol counting center where Jay Shree Ram and Joy Bangla slogans were heard. Sinha said it was a historical verdict and the credit went to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the leading politician of the country. Paul said the devastating result must be examined thoroughly before the 2024 national voting. PC SJC
