The chargesheet has been filed under PMLA. It says Lalu Prasad and IRCTC officials allegedly misused their position for granting sub-lease of the rights of two railway hotels at Puri and Ranchi.
On the other hand, Jharkhand High Court rejected RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav’s plea seeking a 3 month bail extension on medical grounds, in the Fodder scam. The Court has asked him to surrender by August 30.
Lalu, who is currently undergoing treatment at a Mumbai hospital, will now have to undergo treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.
The High Court had on May 11 granted six weeks provisional bail to Lalu on medical grounds. He was in Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Central Jail after being convicted in December 2017 in a multi-crore fodder scam case. He was convicted in two more cases in January and March this year and awarded 14 years imprisonment.
