COVID-19 cases stands at 2.43 crore globally

The United States and Brazil remain worst affected in terms of both COVID-19 infections and fatalities.

Covid-19 cases have been shooting up in the U.S. for several weeks, it has now crossed 60 lakh positive covid-19 cases with a death toll surging past 1.83 Lakh. Washington DC, Illinois, California, Arizona remains worst affected States. Number of daily cases in the country has dropped to less than 45,000 in a day in the past few weeks. Meanwhile, California signed a contract with a medical diagnostics company to ramp up testing in the state. More than double the number of daily coronavirus tests will be carried across the state. The expanded testing capacity for over 2.5 lakh test per day will help in quick isolation. 

The U.S. is followed by Brazil, which has recorded more than 1 Lakh 17 thousand deaths and over 37.22 Lakh cases.

Mexico remains the third worst hit country in terms of deaths linked to COVID-19 as the country has reported over 62 thousand deaths so far.
