Chhattisgarh HC grants bail to Kalicharan

Bilaspur, Apr 1 : The Chhattisgarh High Court on Friday granted bail to godman Kalicharan who was arrested in December 2021 for alleged treason. Justice Arvind Singh Chandel passed the order against a bond of Rs 1 lakh. The defence counsel submitted that the treason charge could not be applied against his client as Kalicharan had not made any remark against the government. Raipur Police registered a case against the godman following his comments, at a religious gathering, against Father of the Nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. AS-AC
