Central teams arrives in Odisha to assess damage by cyclone Fani

The inter-ministerial team, led by Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs Vivek Bharadwaj, will visit cyclone affected district of Puri, Cuttack and Khurda for three days in separate groups.        

The team will hold a meeting with senior state government officials, including Chief Secretary A P Padhi before returning to Delhi.

After completing the visit, the team will submit its report to the Centre. 

The death toll due to cyclone Fani rose to 64 with 21 fresh deaths confirmed on Sunday. 

Meanwhile, the administration is making efforts round the clock to restore electricity and water supply.

In Bhubaneshvar, 60% of the electricity has been restored, while, it will take some more days to restore electricity and water supply in the most affected Puri district.

In the meantime, administration is providing water by tankers in Puri.
