Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba chairs review meeting of NCMC over Bihar flood situation

The Cabinet secretary took stock of the current situation, preparedness, rescue and relief operations and directed that immediate assistance as sought by the state be provided to meet the crisis.

Meanwhile, The Rescue and relief operations is in full swing in Patna City where 50 percent of the population is still sub-merged in flood water.

20 teams of the NDRF have been deployed in the state in which six alone have been deployed in Patna which has witnessed very heavy rains and waterlogging over the past three day.

Two helicopters of the airforce are currently deployed in rescue and relief operations. four heavy duty pumps, made available by the Coal ministry are reaching Patna today which would pump out 3000 gallons per per minute from waterlogged area.

Essential supplies of food and water is being supplied by the state govt and current efforts are towards restoration of electricity in flood affected areas. Drinking water, candles and food items are being provided to marooned people.

Two helicopters are also air-dropping the food and essential item. SDRF and NDRF teams are continuously evacuating the people from marooned area.
