BJP should first remove loudspeakers from mosques where it rules: Togadia

Nagpur, April 19 : Former Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Pravin Togadia on Tuesday said the BJP should remove loudspeakers from mosques in the states where it is in power. It must be mentioned here that the demand for the removal of loudspeakers from mosques was raised by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray which soon turned into a major controversy and its repercussions were being felt in other states as well. Speaking to media here, Togadia said the BJP should first remove loudspeakers in the states where their party is in power. He further said that BJP is protesting in just Maharashtra but not demanding the same (removal of loudspeakers from mosques) from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat where it is in power. He also said that the demand was not raised when BJP was in power in Maharashtra. “BJP did not demand or take such step when it was in power in Maharashtra”, he said. Earlier, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil here on Tuesday said strict action will be taken against the unauthorised use of loudspeakers at any place of worship or events. PK SHK1959
