BJP President Amit Shah to file nomination

Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat is all set to witness high voltage political activity when BJP president Amit Shah will file his nomination for the seat. With his candidature Shah will be seeking to make his debut to the Lok Sabha…Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari and leaders of BJP’s allies such as Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, SAD supremo Parkash Singh Badal and LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan will be present during Amit Shah’s filing of nomination.

The four-km road-show would start from Sardar Patel Statue in the Naranpura area of Ahmedabad and will culminate at Patidar Chowk in the Ghatlodia area. Party workers would greet Shah by forming a human chain on the road in Gandhinagar…

The announcement of Amit Shah as the candidate from Gandhinagar marks a new chapter not only in the BJP but in Gandhinagar as well. BJP dropped stalwart leader and sitting MP LK Advani. Advani has been a member of Parliament from Gandhinagar since 1991, barring 1996 and 1998, when the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Vijaybhai patel won.

The BJP had put up its best show in the state in the Lok Sabha polls in 2014, by winning all the 26 seats. The party is hoping to repeat its performance this time and is confident that Amit Shah’s candidature will help it continue the best show…
