BJP campaign in top gear

As for the BJP Chief Amit Shah took on Naveen Patnaik’s govt in Odisha on Monday in two places putting it in the dock for lack of development in the state.

With elections round the corner, campaigning has gained momentum, political parties are busy wooing voters. BJP president Amit Shah on Monday lashed out at the Congress, accusing the party of trying to “defame” Hindus by giving them a terror tag. He also slammed the Naveen Patnaik led BJD government in Odisha for lack of development.

BJP also began the last round of campaigning for the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand going to polls on April 11. While addressing a slew of rallies Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that during the last five years of Modi govt, not a single case of corruption has emerged.

Senior leader Arun Jaitley slammed Congress over its Nayay Yojna.

BJP also slammed Congress President Rahul Gandhi, saying that Congress governments in states like Madhya Pradesh have “cheated” farmers by not fulfilling their promise of waiving agriculture loans.

The BJP delegation met the Election Commission and complained about Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha.

The party said that officials in the state are being misused. The party also complained about the West Bengal government and asked for the deployment of paramilitary forces on all seats.

BJP has also announced the names of three candidates from Odisha for Lok Sabha elections. BJP has so far announced the names of 374 candidates. The party also announced the names of its 11 candidates for the Odisha Assembly elections. There will be four phases in Odisha starting from 11th April.

Meanwhile, BJP chief Amit Shah announced NDA candidate Thushar Vellappally, president of Bharath Dharma Jana Sena Kerala’s Wayanad to fight Rahul Gandhi. The announcement comes just a day after Congress’ announced.
