Bihar Floods: dengue cases cross 1,100 mark

In Patna, apart from low-lying city areas, five  sub-divisions are inundated. The death toll has risen to 97. Situation is likely to improve as the level of Ganga and Punpun has started receding. 

The rail services have been restored on Patna-Gaya section and Bakhtiyarpur-Rajgir section as the water has receded from the rail tracks.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar took an aerial survey of flood affected Begusarai, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Katihar and Purnea on Sunday. 

He also took stock of the situation and asked the authorities to carry out the relief operations in a time-bound and efficient manner.

Meanwhile, The instances of dengue fever have escalated to OVER 1100 in the state. Over 170 patients are being treated in Patna Medical College Hospital.  

The state government has organised a 3-day free dengue check-up camp in PMCH and NMCH campus, between 10 and 12 October.
