Bangladesh cuts off mobile internet services to Rohingya Camps

Confirming this the secretary general of the Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh S.M. Farhad said that only 2G services will remain active in the area.

The instructions were issued after the August 25 rally of the Rohingyas marking the second anniversary of fleeing Myanmar after military crackdown. According to government the rally was held without its permission.

Human rights groups have urged the government of Bangladesh to end the restrictions and not over react to the situation.
