Bangladesh: Bomb explosion near Minister’s Car; Two policemen injured

Inspector General of Police Javed Patwary and Dhaka city Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia visited the site.

The IGP told media that it was an improvised explosive device (IED). He said that the attack looked similar to two such incidents earlier in May this year targeting policemen in the Gulistan and Malibagh areas of Dhaka.

When asked whether this was a militant attack, Dhaka police spokesperson said  they cannot say anything specifically as yet.
