Ayushman Bharat – World’s largest healthcare scheme completes one year

On the completion of One year of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme, the Prime Minister tweeted saying, #AyushmanBharat is more than just a healthcare scheme – it is a beacon of hope to more than 50 crore of India’s most vulnerable people. It is breaking the vicious cycle of poverty & disease while making healthcare affordable and accessible. #SaalEkAyushmanAnek

The government has set a target to extend  benefits of World’s largest government healthcare programme, Ayushman Bharat to every needy person in the coming year. Talking to DD News Union health minister Dr Harshvardhan said that 47 lakh people have got free treatment under PMJAY in the last one year.

Measnwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the Universal healthcare session at the UN.

Emphasising that health is an important factor for development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that healthcare has been a priority for his government. He said that India is focussing providing affordable and effective healthcare facilities to the people.

PM Modi highlighted the Ayushmaan Bharat scheme which has proved as a milestone in the healthcare sector.
