The signatories of the fresh letter include-
CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, actors Kangana Ranaut, Pallavi Joshi, Manoj Joshi, folk singer Malini Awasthi, dancer Sonal Mansingh and filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar and Vivek Agnihotri.
The other signatories are personalities from diverse fields.
The signatories to the “open letter” have, in the past, kept silent when tribals and the marginalised have become victims of Naxal terror, they have kept silent when separatists have issued dictates to burn schools in Kashmir, they have kept silent when the demand for dismembering India, for making pieces of her -Tukde Tukde – were made, they kept silent when slogans chanted by terrorists and terror groups were echoed in some leading university campuses in the country.
The public personalities write that PM Narendra Modi works with the vision of sabka sath sabka vikas sabka vishwas. They describe mob lynching as a social malady that Prime Minister has spoken out against time and again. They say the spirit of dissent has never been stronger than under the Modi government.
