The back count for the 50th International Film Festival of India has begun. Wednesday will see curtains go up on this cinephile’s delight.
The grand inaugural ceremony of the 50th edition of IFFI this year will be hosted by ace filmmaker Karan Johar. Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the gala event.
The 50th International Film Festival of India, 2019 will witness screening of over 200 films from 76 countries.
The World Panorama section of the festival curates an amalgamation of new, unconventional, brave and wild cinematic experience for the film enthusiasts with 64 hand-picked films from around the world.
Of these 26 feature films and 15 non feature films are in the Indian panorama section. Interestingly IFFI, in its 50th year dedicates a section for Films, released in 1969 that turns 50 this year.
These include National Award winning Films from all parts of India and bring in its fold, all the Indian Film Industry. The package includes Films in Odiya, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Assamese and Malayalam.
Around 10,000 people and film lovers are expected to attend and participate in the golden jubilee edition.
