Woman lawyer found murdered in her flat in Udaipur

advocate-ruchi-guptaUdaipur : In a shocking incident, a woman lawyer  was found  brutally murdered at her apartment  in New Bhupalpura area under Sukher police station on Thursday morning.  The woman’s head had been hit with some heavy object or perhaps smashed by wall that caused her death, police said. The broad day light murder in a posh area came as a big shock for the residents and the incident was the talk of the town for the day.

The victim’s husband who is a third year student of LLB, saw her blood soaked body first, in the store room of their flat on the seventh floor of the building. Ruchita Gupta, the victim was a registered member of the Udaipur Bar Association and was preparing for the RJS examination. Ruchita do DileepChand Jain, hailed from Kesarganj in Ajmer and had had a love marriage with KB Gupta, her husband police said. The couple were married for almost 15 years and had two children. On Thursday morning, like any other day Ruchita had sent kids to school and later herself had left the house for her coaching classes in a nearby institute, her husband told the police. Gupta who studied at the Sukhadia University’s Law College too left home for his classes. Around 11.30 he returned home to find the door of the flat open and found his wife dead inside the store room.

“The circumstantial evidences indicate the victim had struggled hard to save herself. A team enquired at the coaching institute where Ruchita was enrolled  but she hadn’t attended classes on Thursday ” Mangilal Punwar, SHO, Sukher police station said.  To verify Ruchita’s husband claims, the police took details of her husband’s presence  in the college and found it true. “ He was there for some 2.5 hours and his body language appeared to be normal” teachers at the college said.

Gupta was employed in a fertilizers company earlier but had left job two months back to pursue higher studies in law and chartered accountancy. However, he wasn’t a regular student. “ There are CCTV cameras installed inside the apartment building and intercom facility for the residents. In case of visitors, the security guard would allow anyone only in after confirming with the concerned flat occupant” Anil Mehta, one of the flat owner said. The cops are screening the CCTV footages and mobile call records of the couple to get some clues.
