Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, JP Nadda take govt’s 4-year achievements to people

The Modi govt has completed four years in office. Central ministers have been holding media briefings across the country to take the govt’s achievements to the people. Monday saw Union Railways & Coal Minister Piyush Goyal talking about the govt’s 4 year achievements about both the departments.

Speaking about Railways, the Minister said the biggest change during the last 4 years has been in thinking and putting safety right on top. Responding to a question the Minister set aside all speculation related to privatisation of the railways.

The Minister also cited better coordination between the railways and coal ministries as an achievement as has helped in timely completion of projects. He also made a special mention of the increased coal output in the country to help realise the dream of 24X7 electricity supply in the country.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda also listed the govt’s achievements in last 4 years where his departments are concerned. He said steps taken by his department have led to revolutionary changes in the country’s health care system during the last 4 years. He referred to Ayushman Bharat over how it will bring 50 crore people in the country under health insurance ambit.

He said by 2022, a health and wellness centre would have come up at the level of each panchayat with numbers totaling to 1.5 lakh.

When the govt led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in on May 26, 2014, it had a unifocal goal of development. Since then the govt has been working along the lines of the Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas credo. Four years down the line, the Ministers are presenting their report cards for the people’s consideration.
