New Delhi: Australia skipper Steve Smith won the toss and decide to bat first in the first Test match at Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Pune on Thursday.
Australia managed to reach 84/1 at the end of first session. India were made to toil hard by a confident Australia before the visitors suffered double blow just ahead of the lunch on the opening day of the first cricket Test.
Umesh Yadav gave India exactly what they needed in the 28th over by dismissing David Warner on 38. But David Warner was not the lone batsman to return back to pavilion, his opening partner Matt Renshaw had a bad stomach and declared himself retired ill to make way for two new batsmen at the crease.
