US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un of North Korea today made history by becoming the first sitting US and North Korean leaders to meet and hold formal talks.
The historic meeting took place in Singapore’s Sentosa Island at the Capella hotel.
The two leaders shook hands firmly when they met and the world witnessed the meeting through a host of media gathered there.
The one-on-one meeting was held for approximately 48 minutes.
After one-on-one meeting, Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un then walked together along the balcony.
Trump said one-on-one meeting with Kim Jong Un was ‘very, very good’. He added they have an ‘excellent relationship’.
Trump predicted that he and Kim Jong Un ‘will solve a big problem, a big dilemma’. On the question of denuclearisation, Trump said that by ‘working together, we will get it taken care of’.
While the North Korean leader said that “we came here after overcoming” all the obstacles.
Delegation level talks followed by a working lunch are also taking place between the two sides.
