Top 5 Beautiful Tours in Bali

Curious about Bali? You’re not alone. The wonders of this exotic island, its scenic rice paddies, lush landscapes, stunning sandy beaches, and warm water that beckons under the tropical sun has attracted over 5 million foreign tourists, according to the Bali Tourism Office. Home to some of the most luxurious experience, anyone who enjoys drinking and partying will enjoy the island, but if you are looking to get away from it all, Bali can still be your paradise.

Here are five of the most unique places for the more discerning traveler.

1.Uluwatu Temple Pura Luhur

This cliff-top temple is one of the most impressive places in Bali. It’s one of the six main temples believed to be the Bali’s spiritual pillars. The temple is famous for its unique location, built on a steep limestone cliff that is over 70 meters above the water. It’s just like sitting on Bali’s throne. The atmosphere changes dramatically during the sunset hours, and this is the right time to enjoy a romantic view as you watch the waters surge against the big rocks.

In front of the temple lies a small forest which is also the dwelling place of hundreds of monkeys. These monkeys are believed to be the guardians of the Temple and protect it from any bad influence.  According to the Balinese Pawukon cycle which occurs after every 210 days, there is a temple anniversary celebration where the main patrons of this event are the temple’s keeper from the Jro Kuta Royal family.

The best time to visit the Temple is before sunset, and visitors are expected to wear a sash and sarong, as well as other clothes that are appropriate when making temple visits. At sunset, there is a Kecak dance performed on a daily basis at the stage on the adjacent cliff-tops.

2.Purah Tanah Lot

One of the most important landmarks in Bali, Purah Tanah Lot is famous for its exceptional offshores and sunset backdrops. The onshore temple is located approximately 20kms of Denpasar in the village of Tabanan. It’s regarded as one of the most beautiful of the six Bali cardinal temples, and it stands out as one of the seven temples forming a chain along the coast of the island.

There is a famous legend that this site was founded by a Brahmin priest (Dahyang Niratha) in the 16th century. The tale has it that as the priest traveled along the Coastline, he saw a rocky outcropping that is presently referred to as Tanah Lot. It was there that he decided to sit down to meditate and rest. While local fishermen nearby spotted him and brought him gifts. Niratha spent the night on the island, in which he later instructed the fishermen to construct a shrine to the sea gods and goddesses because he considered the place holy.

3.Pura Ulun Danu Bratan

This complex temple also referred to as the floating temple is located in Bedugul on the edge of the Beratan Lake. The temple was built by the Mengwi Kingdom in the 17th century to honor the Hindu trinity, Dewi Danu, and Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva. Pilgrimage and other ceremonies are usually held at this temple to pray for the continued supply of water to the farmers in Bali which is a part of the UNESCO subak system. This temple is important to all other water temples because it is connected to other irrigation systems that depend on water from Lake Batur.

4.Dolphin Sightings at Lovina

Dolphin watching is a main attraction at the Lovina Beach. What the black sandy beaches lack compared to other beaches around the island, it makes up for with its hundreds of dolphins. Lovina has several hotels that can arrange for dolphin watching trips. A typical dolphin watching tour starts with the boat skipper picking you up, and you head to the sea with the jukung before dawn. You can see three main species of dolphins in these waters, but the spotted dolphins are the most frequent. A Lavina Beach dolphin watching expedition often lasts for half an hour.

Many consider Ubud as Bali’s cultural heart, and this old country town is home to one of the royal families of Bali. This traditional country town is also a booming crafts center, and there are several shops that sell wood carvings, antiques, textiles, crafts, jewelry, and paintings as well as art museums, excellent local craft markets, art studios, and galleries. Therefore, you can relax with meditation and yoga or decide to have a pampering spa and massage session.

Bali is among the world’s most famous tourist destinations, and it can offer you a friendly and cultural experience. Tourists that have visited Bali rave about the beauty of the island and the life of the Balinese people. This island is also steeped in tradition that you will treasure for the rest of your life.
