Three members of Kunjara gang including a woman arrested in shootout case

Udaipur : A joint team of Special Task force and Dhanmandi police station has arrested  three members allegedly associated with city’s Imran Kunjara gang for a firing case that took place outside a hotel at Mukherjichowk locality of the city on 27th April.

While the trio arrested has several cases registered on their names two more accused including Imran Kunjara are still on run.

Those arrested were identified as Mohammad Hussain,Mohammad Wasim alias Chimni and Shabnam alias Shabbu.

On Saturday the cops received a tipoff that accused had planned to meet near a hotel situated at Dhan mandi area after which they led a raid at the hotel and nabbed the trio.

Mohammed Hussain is the younger brother of the gangster Imran Kunjara  who operates a gang in the city, Kunjara on 26th April phoned Hussain asking him to arrange a scooter as he has planned to execute one Akhtar Rasool who is elder brother Kunjara’s rival gangster and History Sheeter Azam.

Following his instructions Hussain and his aid Wasim had arranged a red colored scooty, on 27th Imran and one of his close associate Shabnam alias Shabbu went on the scene and shot 2 bullets at victim Akhtar Rasool while he was sitting at his uncle hotel located at Mukherji Chowk area of the city, out of the 2 bullets one got missed and other one got stucked at his lower back, the accused fled the scene on their scooter,informed Sudhir Joshi Additiona Sp City.

In the initial investigation the police learnt that Kunjara and victim’s brother Azam has gang rivaliry and the shootout at Azam’s brother is the outcome of this rivaliry.Kunjara has named in various severe crimes like murder, extortion , assualt, kidnapping and firing where as Azam is also a gangster and is one of the key vitness in Tulsi Prajapat encounter case who was a gangster and was gunned down by Gujarat police in 2006.

While talking about the female accused Shanam Adsp Joshi informed that she is a resident of Mullatalai area and  one of the member of Kunjara gang, her husband has also worked for Kunjara in past years, since than she was in Kunjara’s contact and aiding him in his operations.

However the trio is under  3 days police custody remand and and police is now attempting to recover the fire weapon used in the shootout, on the other hand the man hunt for the 2 other absconding accused is still on.
