Udaipur : In a joint raid held by the State Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (SDRI) and the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Udaipur, at Jhamarkotda mine, of the Rajasthan State Mines and Mineral Limited, 53 vehicles engaged in the mining work were found to be operated against norms and proper registration. Of these, 50 belong to a private contractor firm while 3 were of the RSSML. The raid was held on Wednesday after an SDRI team arrived here.
“ It was a joint action by the SDRI team and Udaipur regional transport officer. A part of the mine had been given on sub lease to a firm Hariram Godara Joint Venture who had engaged 50 vehicles. When we raided the mine, the vehicles being used for mining purpose were found without proper documents and mandatory registration” an officer told Udaipur Kiran on condition of anonymity. Remaining 3 vehicles belonged to RSMML and the officers hadn’t overlooked the regulations related to vehicle operation which is a serious issue. The vehicles include dumpers, loaders and earth moving equipments, sources said.
